This Safety Center provides resources and information on the tools and practices we employ to help ensure your well-being on every shared ride.
Safety Features
- Driver Ratings: Our transparent rating system allows passengers to provide feedback on their experience, helping maintain high standards and accountability within the driver community.
- Emergency Contact Feature: Passengers can designate emergency contacts who can be quickly notified with ride details in case of an emergency via the in-app alert button during an active ride. Manage Contacts
- Profile Information: Both drivers and passengers have profiles with basic information. We encourage users to keep their profiles up-to-date.
Community Guidelines
A safe and positive experience relies on everyone doing their part. We expect all users to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Respect Each Other: Treat drivers and fellow passengers with courtesy and respect.
- Be Punctual: Arrive at the agreed pickup location on time. Communicate any unavoidable delays promptly.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Help keep the vehicle clean and tidy for everyone.
- Communicate Clearly: Confirm pickup/dropoff details and any specific needs beforehand.
- No Discrimination or Harassment: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination or harassment.
- Follow the Law: Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations. Ensure seatbelts are worn.

Emergency Protocols
- In-App Emergency Alert: During an active ride, passengers can use the "EMERGENCY ALERT" button. This will notify your designated emergency contacts with ride details. Use this feature responsibly in genuine emergencies.
- Contact Local Authorities: If you are in immediate danger or witness an emergency, **always contact local police or emergency services first** (e.g., 911, 112, or your local equivalent number).
- Report Issues to Us:** For non-immediate safety concerns or guideline violations, please report the issue to WorkRideAlong support through our Contact Us page. Provide as much detail as possible, including the ride date and user involved.
Safety Tips
Before the Ride:
- Review the driver's profile and rating.
- Confirm the vehicle make, model, color, and registration number match the details provided.
- Share your trip details (driver name, vehicle info, estimated arrival time) with a friend or family member.
- Arrange pickups and dropoffs in well-lit, public locations whenever possible.
During the Ride:
- Sit where you feel most comfortable.
- Wear your seatbelt at all times.
- Avoid sharing overly personal information.
- Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, ask the driver to stop in a safe public place and exit the vehicle. Use the emergency features if necessary.
After the Ride:
- Provide honest feedback and ratings to help maintain community safety and quality.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
