- Account Information: Name, email address, password (managed securely by Firebase Authentication - we don't store your raw password), user type (driver/passenger).
- Profile Information: Area of residence, date of birth, gender, mobile phone number, address, profile picture, driver-specific details (vehicle make, model, color, registration, driving experience, bio), passenger-specific details (booking limits).
- Route Information: Details of routes you create as a driver, including start/end locations, stops, schedule, available seats, and pricing information.
- Booking Information: Details of rides you book as a passenger or receive requests for as a driver, including pickup/dropoff locations, requested seats, proposed prices, passenger notes, and booking status.
- Rating Information: Ratings and comments provided by passengers about drivers.
- Emergency Contact Information: Names, relationships, phone numbers, and emails of emergency contacts provided by passengers.
- Usage Information: We may collect information about how you interact with the platform (e.g., timestamps, features used), primarily for debugging and service improvement.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Operate the Service: Facilitate account creation, connect drivers and passengers, manage routes and bookings, display profiles, calculate ratings, and enable core platform functionality.
- To Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns (in an aggregated or anonymized way where possible) to understand user needs and improve platform features and usability.
- To Communicate With You: Send service-related notifications (e.g., booking confirmations/rejections), respond to inquiries, and provide customer support.
- To Ensure Safety and Security: Verify accounts (as applicable), monitor for fraudulent activity, facilitate emergency contact features, and enforce our Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines.

WorkRideAlong does NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes.
We only share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Between Users: To facilitate rides, we share necessary information between drivers and passengers involved in a booking (e.g., names, profile pictures, vehicle details for passengers; names, pickup/dropoff points for drivers).
- Emergency Contacts: If a passenger uses the Emergency Alert feature, we will share relevant ride and location information (if available) with their designated emergency contacts.
- Service Providers: We may use third-party service providers (like Firebase for authentication, hosting, database) who process data on our behalf solely to operate the platform. These providers are obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Password security is handled by Firebase Authentication.
6. User Rights
You generally have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information stored in your profile. You can manage your profile information and emergency contacts through your account settings. For account deletion requests, please follow the process outlined in your profile section.

Our service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age.
